Ao longo desse texto intencionamos desenvolver a ideia segundo a qual há uma estreita conexão estrutural entre categorias como vontade, razão, autonomia, liberdade e causalidade no interior da filosofia prática de Kant. Assim, partindo da identificação de vontade e razão procuraremos demonstrar que esse paralelismo só é possível por meio da purificação da vontade e pela atribuição de uma função prática à razão. Entretanto, somente a purificação da vontade ainda não será suficiente para permitir a identificação entre vontade e razão. (...) Quine’s writings on indeterminacy of translation are mostly abstract and theoretical; his reasons for the thesis are not based on historical cases of translation but on general considerations about how language works. So it is no surprise that a common objection to the thesis asserts that it is not backed up by any positive empirical evidence. Ian Hacking (1981 and 2002) claims that whatever credibility the thesis does enjoy comes rather from alleged (fictitious) cases of radical mistranslation. Kant’s treatments of incongruent counterparts have been criticized in the recent literature. His 1768 essay has been charged with an ambiguous use of the notion of ‘inner ground’, and his 1770 claim that those differences cannot be apprehended conceptually is thought to be false. The author argues that those two charges rest on an uncharitable reading. ‘Inner ground’ is equivocal only if misread as mapping onto Leibniz notion of quality. Concepts suffice to distinguish counterparts, but are insufficient to specify their (...) spatial forms. Kant’s claims are reasonable and plausible, and have been reaffirmed repeatedly in contemporary discussions of demonstrative identification. (shrink)

Este artigo procura apresentar algumas considerações acerca do entrecruzamento do pensamento político de Hannah Arendt e a questão ambiental. Para tanto, o seguinte questionamento servirá de guia para a reflexão aqui pretendida: se o âmbito natural é perturbado pelas ações humanas, é razoável a crença de que a própria ação humana possa ser capaz de frear o atual cenário de catástrofe? Assim sendo, assume-se, aqui, como procedimento metodológico uma análise bibliográfica que recorre ao livro A condição humana (The human condition, (...) 1958 [2010]) e alguns ensaios da coletânea Entre o passado e o futuro (Between Past and Future, 1961 [2009]). De modo geral, busca-se desenvolver o argumento de que embora não se possa enquadrar Hannah Arendt no rol das “historiadoras das ciências”, tampouco uma “pensadora da ecologia”, é certo que ela nunca deixou de se interessar e comentar os eventos científicos de seu tempo, bem como de se preocupar com as consequências das ações humanas. Logo, os assuntos relacionados aos avanços tecnológicos e científicos constituem assuntos de primeira grandeza e importância tanto para o mundo quanto para a política. Em suma, pretende-se sustentar a hipótese de que para Hannah Arendt, a imagem adotada da natureza – ao menos desde a época moderna –, e as ações humanas cometidas a partir desta compreensão, afetam diretamente nossa existência política. This paper aims to critically approach the development of capitalist relations of production, as well as the genesis of the vindications of women's rights in the French Revolution. We seek to understand the socioeconomic conditions that made possible the rise of the first typically modern philosophical and political reflections about the exclusion of women from political rights and their inferiorization in society. In this sense, it is possible to emphasize the work of Mary Wollstonecraft and Olympe de Gouges, which, in (...) contesting the theories of natural law, enabled the development of a first political program to attend to the needs of women (peasants, proletarians and petit bourgeois). Quine’s thesis of underdetermination is significantly weaker than it has been taken to be in the recent literature, for the following reasons: (i) it does not hold for all theories, but only for some global theories, (ii) it does not require the existence of empirically equivalent yet logically incompatible theories, (iii) it does not rule out the possibility that all perceived rivalry between empirically equivalent theories might be merely apparent and eliminable through translation, (iv) it is not a fundamental thesis (...) within Quine’s philosophy, and (v) it does not carry with it the anti-realistic consequences often associated with the thesis in recent debates. The paper analyzes Quine’s views on the matter and the changes they underwent over the years. A conjecture is put forth about why Quine’s thesis has been so widely misrepresented: Quine’s writings up to 1975 tackled primarily the formulation and justification of the thesis, but afterwards were concerned mostly with the question whether empirically equivalent rivals to the theory we hold are to be considered true also. When this latter discussion is read without bearing in mind Quine’s earlier formulation and justification of the thesis, his thesis seems to have stronger epistemic consequences than it actually does. A careful reading of his later writings shows, however, that the formulation of the thesis remained unchanged after 1975, and that his mature and considered views supported only a very mitigated version of the thesis. Kant uses incongruent counterparts in his work before and after 1781, but not in the first Critique. Given the relevance that incongruent counterparts had for his thought on space, and their persistence in his work during the 1780s, it is plausible to think that he had a reason for leaving them out of both editions of the Critique. Two implausible conjectures for their absence are here considered and rejected. A more plausible alternative is put forth, which explains that textual absence (...) as a result of the synthetic method of presentation intended for the Critique. (shrink)

Dizia-se com substantivos que se referem à ordem criada, ordenadora das justas relações entre os homens, e ao comportamento justo e recto, conforme a essa ordem. Nos salmos, além da ideia de ordem, indica frequentemente uma acção que se conforma à ordem estabelecida, dando ao outro o que lhe corresponde e restaurando-o na sua devida dignidade. Os profetas foram os (...) paladinos da justiça social e a consciência moral dos dirigentes do povo. Quando exigiam justiça ao povo, não ditavam um código de moral; apontavam a vontade de Deus contemplada pela fé. O conceito de «justiça de Deus» não consiste em que Ele deva algo ao ser humano mas naquilo que Ele se deve a si mesmo em vista do bem que quer para o ser humano. Prolonga a Sua verdade e fidelidade. One of the objections against the thesis of underdetermination of theories by observations is that it is unintelligible. Any two empirically equivalent theories — so the argument goes—are in principle intertranslatable, hence cannot count as rivals in any non-trivial sense. Against that objection, this paper shows that empirically equivalent theories may contain theoretical sentences that are not intertranslatable. Examples are drawn from a related discussion about incommensurability that shows that theoretical non-intertranslatability is possible.

ABSTRACTThis paper examines John M. Keynes’s relationship with Gustav Cassel and Eli Hecksher and puts together the events related to his being awarded the 1939 Söderström Gold Medal by The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The correspondence between these economists during the interwar years is detailed, with emphasis on their personal approaches to economic theory and history. Cassel’s and Heckscher’s critical reviews of Keynes’s General Theory are outlined as well. Lastly, an account is provided of the grounds for conferring the (...) award on Keynes while also drawing attention to the conflict-laden proceedings within the Academy when the issue was under consideration by the institution. The final remarks ponder why Keynes received the prize despite the controversy among Swedish economists over the General Theory at the time. (shrink)

Este ensaio tem como objetivo analisar os desafios do ensino da Psicologia da Educação na formação de professores em tempos de pós-pandemia. A nossa metodologia de pesquisa encontra-se no campo da Filosofia da Educação, no sentido de interpretar criticamente o processo formativo dos futuros professores que se encontram nos cursos de licenciaturas. Partimos do pressuposto que o deslocamento do sujeito para atuar no papel de professor se apresenta como resultado das relações que se estabelecem na transmissão do saber crítico em (...) sala de aula. Essa condição se constitui numa ressignificação da cultura escolar, no sentido de proporcionar a experiência vivida numa relação entre iguais. Podemos concluir que a Psicologia da Educação em tempos de pós-pandemia deveria assumir a tarefa de reelaborar o ensinar e aprender o outro no campo escolar como forma de construirmos processos de aprendizagem em que possamos olhar e pensar o mundo em respeito às todas as espécies de vida do nosso planeta no sentido de evitarmos a crise ecológica e suas consequências devastadoras. O objetivo desse artigo é analisar a hipótese de que a educação escolar se constitui por diversas práticas que se encontram para além de qualquer princípio educativo. O “processo educativo” é uma tentativa de o educador delimitar uma interação com o educando e circunscrever modos específicos de transmissão do saber. No caso desse estudo temos como método a revisão bibliográfica em autores que permitem conceituar aquilo que se pode conceituar como “educação sem fundamentos”. Portanto, em nossa conclusão partimos da suposição (...) oposta com grande parte dos educadores que buscam estabelecer o controle no campo das relações humanas que se estabelecem em sala de aula. Grandes partes da transmissão dos conteúdos podem ocorrer sem muita clareza teórica por parte dos educadores e o educandos aprendem por mecanismos adversos – para além de qualquer princípio educativo. In this case, the question is to understand how the increase and the confiscate of wealth suppose the power’s development that captures the life strength to make them participe to the wealth creation process. What other fundamental question could be emphasized? The contemporaneous capitalism is strictly connected to method (...) of subjetictivity production. In Nascimento da biopolítica Foucault shows how the capitalism appeals to the people to construct their lives like enterprises. It refers to homo oeconomicus like a suject that considers himself as a valuable capital. We realize the human capital is managed like lives markets, through the neoliberal biogovernamentality, regulating the sujects conducts by a place of truth, the market . We propose the constitution of a new subjectivity: the homo dispensatio. Tracing the relation between the life management as a capital and the constitution of this subjectivity, we could signalize what this situation can provide from the ethical and political viewpoint. Quine is frequently acknowledged as one of the main proponents of both confi rmation holism and underdetermination. In the recent literature, however, his views have been often criticized and misrepresented: the distinction between the two theses has been often blurred, the obviousness of holism has been rejected, and the plausibility of underdetermination has come under attack. This paper attempts to formulate both theses as clearly as possible and to defend Quine’s views against some recurrent criticisms. In particular, it is argued (...) that Quine’s theses are signifi cantly weaker than they have been taken to be and that only confi rmation holism, but not underdetermination, plays a fundamental role in his philosophy. This paper is divided into three sections. The purpose of the first section is to show how the search for an alternative conception of practical normativity by contemporary moral philosophers keeps affinities with Nietzsche's attempt to overcome morality in the nineteenth century. In the second section, I assess the merits and limitations of Brobjer's attempt to affiliate Nietzsche with the ancient Greek tradition of virtue ethics. In the third section, I present the different motivations behind Nietzsche's critique of the moral (...) conception of practical normativity. I claim that this diversity of motivations makes his position unstable and helps us to explain why he oscillates between the consequentialist and the non-consequentialist view of perfectionism. Although I do not discuss it exhaustively in this paper, I point out some reasons why Nietzsche should have advocated a non-consequentialist view of perfectionism. (shrink)

A thorough analysis of the Golden Rule (GR) is given including formal investigations of its logical structure and essential implications. Starting with the general distinction of positive and negative forms of GR a set of sixteen formal implications, one for each variant of the rule, is presented. The moral acceptability of the output of the different versions of GR is assessed in various problem contexts and in discussing several objections to GR with the conclusion that GR is hopelessly inadequate as (...) a general criterion of moral choice. The aim of this paper is to show that the way in which Pascal reacts to Montaigne’s attempt of recovering the ancient conception of philosophy as a way of life by reworking certain elements he borrowed from the sceptical tradition will have a considerable impact on the similar philosophical project Nietzsche tries to develop in his so-called middle period works (section III of this paper). Nietzsche’s starting point is the diagnosis that the crisis of Christianity in Early Modern Europe did (...) not make room for the development of a contemplative life emancipated from religious illusions. Instead of that, it was followed by the degradation, not to say the complete suppression of contemplative life and the immersion in modern activism (see CS 359, BGE 58). The trilogy Nietzsche dedicated to the Free Spirits is an attempt to directly counteract this tendency and regain a non-religious sense of contemplative life in the most unlikely context of the bourgeois society of the second half of the Nineteenth Century. I intend to show that by the time of publishing Daybreak, Pascal becomes his most stimulating opponent. Before doing it, I reconstruct the way Montaigne receives and transforms the heritage of ancient scepticism (section I) and, thereafter, I proceed to investigate how Pascal reacts to the revival of ancient scepticism, putting special emphasis on the way he tries to undermine the ideal of a contemplative life freed from the tutelage of Christianity, a philosophical project which had in Montagne its most consequent representative (section II). Este artigo é dividido em dez seções. Das seções 1 a 4, faz-se uma reconstrução da teoria schopenhaueriana da liberdade. Será mostrado que Schopenhauer adota uma definição negativa de liberdade, sendo esta a simples ausência de necessidade. A partir da quinta seção, mostramos que esta definição é insuficiente, pois a liberdade negativa restringe-se à inação. Em seguida, busca-se a partir de Schopenhauer uma definição positiva de liberdade. Julgamos encontrá-la na identidade entre Ser e Querer, pela qual o agente quer-se de (...) acordo com aquilo que se é, mas também é de acordo com aquilo que quer ser. Esta correspondência entre Ser e Querer — que também pode ser chamada de asseidade — encontra corroboração no sentimento de orgulho. (shrink)

Ziel meines Aufsatzes ist es, die Frage zu stellen, ob die Art und Weise, wie Nietzsche sich auf das Verhältnis zwischen Philosophie und Wissenschaft bezieht, mithilfe des zeitgenössischen methodologischen Naturalismus beschrieben werden kann. Leiter (2009) hat diese Frage mit einem entschiedenen Ja beantwortet, ohne jedoch die Spannungen, die eine solche Antwort mit sich bringen, ausführlich zu diskutieren. Zumindest aus zwei Gründen scheint die Philosophie Nietzsches sich mit der stärkeren Version des methodologischen Naturalismus nicht so leicht in Einklang bringen zu lassen: (...) Erstens aufgrund des Prinzips des Willens zur Macht, das die These impliziert, dass das Intentionalitätsvokabular primitiver bzw. gründlicher als das physikalistische Vokabular sei, als einer Konsequenz aus der Verwendung des pragmatischen Prinzips der Sparsamkeit auf die ontologische Debatte (JGB 36, KSA 5, 54 f.); zweitens aufgrund Nietzsches Auffassung der spezifischen Aufgabe der Philosophie als einer normativen Aufgabe (JGB 211, KSA 5, 144 f.; GM I Anmerkung, KSA 5, 289). Gegen die starke Interpretation Leiters werden hier die folgenden Thesen vertreten: Nietzsche kann nur insofern als ein Vertreter des methodologischen Naturalismus betrachtet werden, als er der Auffassung ist, dass der Philosoph epistemische Tugenden erst dann gewinnt, wenn er sich mit einer wissenschaftlichen Methode vertraut macht (MA I 256, KSA 2, 212). Das bedeutet, dass er sich zumindest vorläufig den Regeln unterwirft, die innerhalb einer bestimmten wissenschaftlichen Gemeinschaft gelten (MA I 635, KSA 2, 360 f.; JGB 188, KSA 5, 108 ff.). Der Philosoph soll dies tun, um die epistemischen Tugenden zu erlangen, die für die normative Aufgabe der Philosophie unentbehrlich sind. Diese epistemischen Tugenden sind wesentlich skeptischer Natur. Sie zu kultivieren, bedeutet sicherlich, epistemische Werte zu fördern, nicht aber unbedingt für sie (AC 54, KSA 6, 236 f.), geschweige denn für ein kausales, bzw. monokausales Erklärungsmodell Exklusivität beanspruchen zu müssen (JGB 21, KSA 5, 35 f.). In this paper I intend to identify the kind of Amoralism Nietzsche is arguing for in his writings of the middle period. In the first part of the paper, I focus on the presuppositions as well as on the motivation underlying this version of the amoralist position. Nietzsche diagnoses a normative conflict between intellectual integrity and the metaphysical presuppositions of our moral vocabulary and practices. This diagnosis leads him to the conclusion that we should reform a substantive part of our (...) moral intuitions. However, this first critique of morality, one that we could label an internal critique, is not all that Nietzsche has to say about normativity, even if we consider only the works of the middle period. According to my interpretation, Nietzsche is committed to a position that could be described as normative Minimalism. By developing this position, Nietzsche was clearly influenced by Montaigne´s reception of both Epicureanism and Pyrrhonism. The kind of human life Nietzsche associated with this position is identified by him with the life of the free spirits, conceived as both a genuine heir and an emulator of the ascetic types made possible by the Christian culture, paradigmatically exemplified by Pascal and the French Jansenists. In the second part of this paper, I contrast this kind of normative Minimalism with Nietzsche´s defence of Perfectionism in his later works. I conclude my paper by calling attention to some argumentative advantages of normative Minimalism and to some argumentative difficulties that Perfectionism cannot preclude (from a genuine Nietzschean perspective). The main objective of this text is to analyze some of the ambiguities that characterize Augustine of Hippo’s position regarding the so-called pagan culture in general and Greek philosophy in particular. As a matter of fact, the author of Confessions is situated in a mid-term, which I identify by the expression “the paradox of between”, for he does not totally embrace the position of Justin Martyr, who identifies Christian wisdom with Greek philosophy, neither does he claim the other extreme position (...) of Tertullian, who sees an antagonism or an insuperable gap between “Christian wisdom” and “pagan wisdom”, or between faith and reason. In the perspective of this paradox, three major questions will be examined: (a) the relation between philosophy and Christian religion, (b) the problem of the “platonic philosophers”, (c) the concepts of recollection and memory. O objetivo deste artigo é explorar a relação de complementaridade entre o real e o imaginário, com foco no aspecto estético-hermenêutico que constitui a expressividade das imagens. Partimos da problematização do estatuto epistemológico da imagem no pensamento ocidental, recorrendo a autores que privilegiam a imagem como expressão do real. Por fim, discutirmos a prevalência da “imagem estética”, por meio da qual o mundo explicita-se como aparência de mundo no cenário contemporâneo. Por este caminho, propomos uma abordagem da imagem que possa (...) abranger a intensidade dos fluxos afetivos e, ao mesmo tempo, a pluralidade das interpretações. (shrink)

Este texto tem dois objetivos principais: apresentar o conceito de “lei natural” e aquilo que seria a sua expressão como “lei escrita” e, depois, reinterpretar este conceito a partir de uma perspectiva nietzschiana. Para alcançar este duplo objetivo urge, pois, em primeiro lugar, traçar, nas suas grandes linhas, as vicissitudes que atravessou a teoria da “lei natural” ao longo da tradição #losó#ca até a sua culminância naquelas correntes do direito natural, típicas dos tempos modernos. Convém também assinalar que este conceito (...) encerra no seu bojo, como derivações, as noções de necessidade, de #nalidade e providência. Eis por que, para interpretá-lo e criticá-lo, são utilizadas algumas intui- ções e análises de Nietzsche que, ao longo de sua obra, não cessa de se referir, direta ou indiretamente, a estas questões e, também, àquela de acaso. Não se trata, portanto, de simplesmente apresentar uma crítica de Nietzsche aos conceitos de “lei natural” e “lei escrita”, mas, principalmente, de examiná-los à luz de seu pensamento. (shrink)

O artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre alguns determinantes presentes no campo da educação, trabalho e saúde que podem oscilar entre a produção do sujeito emancipado e a produção do sujeito autoritário. O principal fator de análise é que na modernidade ocorre uma predominância e resistência em romper com a hegemonia do paradigma da técnica incorporada que produz oposição ao pensamento crítico. Neste caso, o problema da pesquisa encontra-se no campo de reflexão sobre o fato de a prática educativa destituir-se como (...) atividade intelectual. Portanto, ocorre a necessidade de compreender o campo educacional como lugar da produção e, principalmente, o esclarecimento sobre a concepção de mundo em que o sujeito encontra-se veiculado. O objetivo do trabalho é ampliar a discussão sobre os meios e fins utilizados, principalmente as diversas técnicas ensinadas, como elemento educacional, mas destituídas do pensamento crítico. Tem-se como hipótese de trabalho que o educador deveria assumir a posição de intelectual no sentido de criticar e inovar o uso da técnica e seus processos na constituição da sociedade em que o sujeito pode realizar-se na emancipação. A metodologia de investigação no trabalho insere-se numa hermenêutica da leitura de autores que subsidiam a análise sobre a questão do sujeito emancipado na modernidade. As principais conclusões do estudo é que o educador deveria enfrentar-se na posição de intelectual, na tentativa de encontrar pontos de fuga nesse modelo de sociedade de mercado em que as técnicas e processos se encontram reificados, tornando as relações educativas, e principalmente seus conteúdos, como algo sem significado. Biological individuality is a notoriously thorny topic for biologists and philosophers of biology. In this paper we argue that biological individuality presents multiple, interconnected questions for biologists and philosophers that together form a problem agenda. Using a case study of an interdisciplinary research group in ecology, behavioral and evolutionary biology, we claim that a debate on biological individuality that seeks to account for diverse practices in the biological sciences should be broadened to include and give prominence to questions about uniqueness (...) and temporality. We show that broadening the problem agenda of biological individuality draws attention to underrecognized philosophical issues and discussions and thereby organizes and enriches the existing debate. Este ensaio busca analisar a representação conceitual do Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM) para além do senso comum. Assim, o nosso objetivo geral é discutir a interface da avaliação educacional e as políticas públicas. _Para tanto, busca se _compreender os determinantes impostos na representação conceitual do Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM) como modelo de gestão do espaço escolar. _Isso se apresenta como forma de romper com a hegemonia que se encontra presente no senso comum do ENEM apenas como (...) avaliação de ingresso no ensino superior. _A metodologia utilizada encontra-se no campo da teoria crítica, no sentido de apropriação do conceito de avaliação educacional. O estudo se justifica ao constituir aspectos interpretativos referentes aos sistemas de avaliação educacional que possam, efetivamente, direcionar para proposições de melhoria da qualidade da educação. Concluímos que se torna importante que os educadores, em sua atividade educativa, tenham a compreensão política do papel que desempenham em democratizar o acesso à cultura escolar e rejeitem a compreensão tecnicista de curso preparatório para o vestibular quando o ENEM ficar associado, exclusivamente, a um mecanismo de ingresso ao ensino superior. Isso implica compreender que a educação básica, como um todo, é um lugar de formação e o ingresso no ensino superior é decorrência desse processo formativo. _Nesse contexto, a formação profissional do sujeito, numa sociedade democrática em todas as instâncias, seria a posição do saber fazer como elemento de acesso a todos que participam e usufruem da ciência e tecnologia como instrumento do pensamento crítico e efetiva melhoria da qualidade de vida de toda a população._. The return of individual research results and incidental findings from biobanking research is a much debated ethical issue globally but has extensive relevance in India where the burden of out of pocket health care expenses is high for the majority. The views of 21 ethics committee (EC) members and 22 researchers from Bengaluru, India, concerning the ethics of biobanking research were sought through in‐depth interviews using an unfolding case vignette with probes. A shared view among most was that individual research (...) results which are ‘actionable’ or have ‘clinical significance’ should be returned to the sample contributors through their treating physicians. This was seen as an ethical obligation and a moral duty on the side of the researcher to “give back” to the person who contributed to the research. The challenges foreseen were that of resources, both financial and personnel, for the time and counseling needed to accompany the disclosure of results. Perceptions of ‘ownership’ appear to influence the concept of benefit sharing. While benefit sharing in financial terms was considered ethically challenging, certain researchers and ethics committee members made a case for “two way altruism” where the researcher in return for the altruistic ‘valuable contribution’, shares with the contributor/ community, benefits of the research which could include research findings, improved patient care, and more affordable access to the new diagnostic tests or products arising from the research. This defines the emerging ethic of “giving back” which goes beyond individual rights and ensures reciprocity and distributive justice. (shrink)

O objetivo geral deste trabalho é avaliar, de forma crítica, como os fundamentos teóricos da Democracia Radical, nomeadamente os expendidos por Chantal Mouffe e seus interlocutores, podem contribuir no aprofundamento da Democracia Deliberativa de acento habermasiano e seus fundamentos de participação política. O problema que pretendemos destacar diz com a possibilidade de equalizarmos as convergências e divergências entre os fundamentos da Democracia Radical e da Democracia Deliberativa, visando constituir o aprimoramento da participação política contemporânea. De acordo com Pettit e Skinner, o surgimento do utilitarismo teria contribuído decisivamente para o eclipse da tradição republicana moderna. Os utilitaristas teriam sido responsáveis por uma crítica radical à concepção de liberdade republicana, o que teria resultado no predomínio da concepção de liberdade hobbesiana. A agudeza e a força do ataque utilitarista à concepção de liberdade republicana estariam sintetizadas em um conjunto de objeções formuladas, ainda no final do século XVIII, pelo utilitarista teológico inglês William Paley. Um exame do (...) pensamento de Paley mostra que sua concepção de liberdade, ao contrário do que sugerem Skinner e Pettit, é bastante distinta da concepção hobbesiana. (shrink)

According to Pettit and Skinner the rising of utilitarianism would have decisively contributed to the eclipse of the modern republican tradition. The Utilitarians would have been responsible for a radical critique of the concept of republican liberty, which would have resulted in the predominance of the Hobbesian conception of freedom. The sharpness and strength of the utilitarian attack to the conception of republican liberty would have be summarized in a set of objections formulated, in the late eighteenth century, by the (...) English theological utilitarian William Paley. An examination of Paley's thought shows that his conception of liberty, contrary to what suggest Skinner and Pettit, is quite distinct from the Hobbesian concept. (shrink)

O objetivo deste artigo é analisar o processo formativo em interface à perspectiva interdisciplinar no campo educacional. Para tanto, parte-se da análise do “paradigma do muro”, como um problema que se evidencia enquanto representação emblemática do projeto da sociedade, pautada na interdição ou na exclusão do outro. No campo da ciência, existem outros muros que se erguem como barreiras que nos impedem de pensar o conhecimento para além da ciência disciplinar. Para analisar a educação entre muros e a transmissão do (...) saber interdisciplinar, a metodologia utilizada encontra-se no âmbito da filosofia da educação, no sentido de compreender a apropriação crítica do conceito do muro como um projeto arquitetônico de interdição ou exclusão do sujeito na vida em coletividade, ou na recusa do pensamento em interface com as diversas áreas do conhecimento. Em nossa percepção, a proposição da crítica radical seria o questionamento da própria construção do muro como um lugar que prende o sujeito no campo da realização da liberdade. Seria esse questionamento como proposição de crítica da crítica enquanto condição de proporcionar todo o movimento do pensamento que se apresenta nas interfaces entre a educação e os processos formativos numa apropriação crítica do fazer, o trabalho como expressão de si e a saúde do irreversível processo de degeneração de si, pois, se for somente para buscar a luz no final do túnel, a modernidade já faz isso e apresenta todo seu excesso em diversas respostas competentes de manter “a gente feliz”. Temos a esperança de que a impertinência da crítica da crítica, no campo da interdisciplinaridade, torna possível a heurística do processo formativo para consolidação de projeto de sociedade da educação sem muros na transmissão do conhecimento. A partir dos estudos abordados, concluiu-se que existem outros muros difusos, que também impedem a passagem física e social do sujeito para diversos espaços na vida em sociedade. No caso específico no campo do conhecimento, o muro que impede a passagem para o meio intelectual se apresenta em toda uma semiótica que nos conduz ao pensamento reificado do senso comum e, principalmente, à manutenção da hegemonia da apropriação de determinada representação de mundo, que se pauta numa hierarquia entres aqueles que mandam e os outros que obedecem. O presente artigo tem o objetivo de apresentar e analisar as críticas e deturpações promovidas pelos Padres Apologistas acerca da Filosofia de Epicuro, mais especificamente a parte dessa Filosofia relativa à fruição dos prazeres. Para tanto, elegemos aqui quatro dos vários Padres Apologistas que criticaram e deturparam a Filosofia de Epicuro, a saber: Tito Flávio Clemente, mais conhecido como Clemente de Alexandria; Justino de Nablus ; Ambrósio Aurélio e Jerônimo de Estridão.
